Tea Time in Laurelhurst Park

Its finally warm outside (although not in the morning lately) and time for tea parties in the park! Well, this is not so much a party - but a get-together. I call it Tea Time - it all started as a way for local makers and sellers on Etsy to get together and chit chat about their businesses and
network with each other. Anyone is welcome to come, its a lovely group of local creative people that get together when we can, bring our crafts and some snacks.
If you can make it - this Thursday (July 22nd) out in Laurelhurst Park - anytime between 10am and 2pm - NE corner of the park (near Ankeny Street) - find a group of chatting crafting ladies sitting at a picnic table. Its lovely. Even if you can only make it for a little bit of time... I will be there around noon - see you there!

My Tea Party at Pix Patisserie

This afternoon Tim took me out for a birthday tea party - I have been looking forward to this for weeks! Pix Patisserie now does this special Tea Brunch thing, one set price for tea and a platter of 20 or so different treats. It was insane - my eyes immediately knew this would be a painful feat to consume. Ever since I was a little bitty girl I loved a good tea party. Pix did not disappoint, it may have been a rainy afternoon, and I did not have the proper lace gloves and hat... but I had a good time!Pictured above are the treats: I started with the cheese (center), took two tiny little bites of savory Spanish raw goats milk cheese - proceeded to do a little mini dance in my chair. That cheese was awesome. On to the baked treats, brioche and scones - with cups of cream, lemon curd and house-made nutella to spread... holy cripes it was all so good and it just continued. Macaroon cookies (one was passion fruit flavored, the other was a green macha cookie) and chocolate truffles, cucumber sandwiches and mushroom pate baked in little puff pastries... I think we agreed the piece-du-resistance was the little quail egg wrapped in prosciutto and dipped in sesame seeds. That was scrumptious. I peaked out half-way thru a little almond cake. Seriously - soo much sugar and chocolate all at once, I had slept in so this was basically first thing in the day for me - breakfast of tea and chocolates caused me to nearly pass out from the high of over indulgence. I remained concious to love and appreciate every moment, although I must admit it was far too much for two people and some ended up coming home with me in a box.

Etsy Tea Party

When: Feb 11th at 11am
Hosted by: Judi aka CurlyGirl
What: Etsy Tea Time - a place to chit chat about Etsy with fellow local sellers
Where: check out the PDXEtsy forum for her address and more deets I love tea parties. I love tea. I drink it all day! Etsy Tea Time started years ago as a way to meet other local sellers and help potential sellers get in the game. Its simple networking, but more-so its a chance to sit around and drink tea and chit chat about Etsy! Tim can only stand so much Etsy talk... he pretends to listen, but I know it must bore the crap out of him. So Tea Time has served as a great venue for this chit chat.

And there is so much to talk about lately! The crappy economy and how to boost our sales, the changes Etsy is going thru with Rob returning, and the upcoming local event I Heart Art Portland....

so if you are local and you are a seller on Etsy and you happen to be available on Thursday around 11am - come over to Judi's and chit chat with us! I'll be there!
