Give-Away: FREE Glass Plate

Today I have been working and cleaning - my tools at home were in desperate need of organization and I happen to be home today... so its happened.

I like to organize things occasionally, I even own and operate a label gun :)

click here for a pictures of my tool organizing

But back to the FREE give-away fun! You can win these plates - they are glass, dishwashable, foodsafe... they were test experiments that Jan and I made earlier this year. The print on them is a hammer, its visible but a little strange... on one plate its yellow and the other plate has a blue hammer. We found this particular experiment ended up too "polka dotted" and not crisp at all... you can see the hammer print, but not as well as we wanted.

As we published in our LeJa Methods Booklet, some of our experiments were less satisfactory than others. If you are interested in our printing on glass techniques, this book is full of good information - one of the most useful parts of purchasing the little book from us is having all of our mistakes already done for you!

Experiments always lead to give-aways... so these plates need a home and I am sure someone will love them. Enter a comment here or tweet your entry - just make sure I can contact you if you win (I'll need you info so I can send them to you). Thanks a bunch for entering and be sure to pass the word along to your friends (there are two plates being given away here, so if you have a friend enter and they win, they could share the winnings with you!)

This give-away will end when I pick a random winner out of all the names submited by August 20th 2009

Give-Away: FREE Beachy Earrings

So the question is color... I thought I'd bring my blog readers into my process of making these little beachy glass earrings.

Pictured above are some glass bits that I've etched to look like beach glass. Click on the picture to enlarge if you would like. They are little tiny earrings I was playing around with colors... some I think are better than others... the picture shows what they will look like on earwires as well as what a bunch of colors look like once etched.

Its give-away time again on my blog here - so I thought I'd throw out a fun question: Which color do you like the best and want to wear? I will be giving away one pair of earrings to one lucky winner (I'll draw a name out of a box at the end of the month). To enter simply post a comment with your preferred color(I've numbered them in the picture below, click on the image to make it bigger) and make sure I can email you in case you win. If you do win I will send you a pair in the color that you chose! What fun. Yeah for free gifts!!!
I'll be selling these soon in my Etsy shop and in my booth at the PSM. I want to come up with some sort of fun way to display them (a glass wave with little hooks they can hang from?! hm...)

And the Winner Is...

This wire frame was quite popular - I cannot wait to see what Lea makes out of it! My favorite part of this giveaway was hearing what other artists would hang from it. I loved that!

Thanks for entering my give-aways!

I'll announce the next give-away ASAP. Sorry it took me so long to get around to selecting the winner with this one.

Give-Away: FREE Mobile Frame

This frame could be yours!

I am not sure who might want this, but here it is! You could make your own mobile using this wire frame. Its completely assembled, all you would have to do is make things to hang off the ends of the wire (the frame holds 9 things and is approx. 24inches in length).

You could hang photographs or felted things, or pieces of paper or glass things, or bottle caps, wine corks, beads, buttons... who knows! Your imagination is the limit!

If you are curious about the explanation of this wire frame:

Making empty frames for other artists to create mobiles out of is not something I normally do (only a few persuasive individuals have coaxed them out of me) but I have a couple of lonely confused wire frames in my studio for some reason... they once held creations of mine and I must have removed all the little glass pieces and made something else out of the glass and then the empty frame went lonely and ignored.

Post a comment here on the blog and it could be yours. It certainly wants to make friends with someone, and I'll be intrigued to know what it becomes! Spread the word too - this give-away will run thru April 1st 2009 - anyone can win! Its totally free and simply fun.

Give-Away: FREE Mystery Package

I've always loved a good mystery - whats not to love about a free package that has hidden surprise inside!!

The story here is over a year ago while doing my shipping I mistakenly sealed this box and completely forgot what was inside. See how its an older version of the USPS Priority shipping boxes :) I really don't remember the circumstances at the moment, but for some reason at the time I decided to put the box aside and not ship it (the recipient received what they ordered, and whatever is inside this box remains a mystery...) I know its a miniature mobile, I think its one that can stick onto a computer monitor (but I could be wrong there) and I have my guess what is inside, but who knows?! (my best guess is that its one of these guys)

So leave a comment on this blog and enter a chance to win the package! This give-away will run thru March 10th 2009. I will draw a winner and email them for shipping info. This give-away will even be sent to you USPS Priority Mail (its already in the box, so hey, you get 2day shipping!)

And the Winner Is...

The winner of the Cupcake Jewelry give-away is Gaffer Girls! Congratulations girls!

Stay tuned, the next give-away is kinda funny... I'll be posting details later today

Give-Away: FREE Cupcake Jewelry

I am giving away this fun cupcake set of jewelry, they are translucent pink and have sparkly cupcakes printing inside the glass (earrings and pendant)! Free! They could be yours!

Post a comment here on the blog to enter to win, spread the news to your friends, who doesn't like cupcakes!!

I will choose a winner and contact them for an address to send these treasures to (when you post in the comments make sure I can contact you) on Feb 23rd, 2009.

My friend Jan carved out blocks for me from funny little sketches I made of cupcakes. For some reason when I play with these blocks I cannot help but chant (out loud - sorta singing) "cupcakes, cupcakes". I like saying the word "cupcakes" and I certainly like eating them!

I am thinking about a fun little line of cupcake jewelry, I am also wanting to make little mobiles that are cupcake themed. So let me know what you think - feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Free GiveAway!

I am giving away a FREE mini glass mobile!

If you look closely at the blue triangle there is a funny nick.

I accidentally put this blue triangle too close to its neighbor in the kiln (so the end of the wire tried to attach to this blue triangle and left a little gray nick) and then I forgot the flaw when I made this little mobile.

It is officially a "second", a flawed little buddy, a perfect free give-away for a friend.

Please feel free to enter this give-away. Simply put a comment on this post to get a chance to win. I contact the winner (via email) to get a shipping address when the give-away is over. So make sure I can contact you.

Spread the word to your friends too, its always fun when you know the winner!

This give-away will run thru the beginning of February. I will announce the winner around Feb 10th 2009

Give-Away: FREE Pendant

Who wants a free pendant!! Post a comment on this entry and get a chance to win this little beauty!

Its green and white and clear borosilicate glass - its about the size of a quarter. The lines of color swirl gracefully around this little pendant made by yours truely (ME!).

This week I am having a Torchworking Week - what does that mean? It means I am making a concerted effort to get behind the torch as much as possible and all my blog posts will be oriented around glass torchworking. Did you notice I even changed my banner in honor of this week? :)

So enjoy! heres a sneak preview of some of what I will be blogging about this week:
  • how torchworkers can personalize handmade candles
  • Wednesday I am teaching a class introducing Torchworking Borosilicate
  • next week my Cousteau Classics Beadmaking series is starting, so I will blog about that
  • and there will be a couple whimsicle surprises as well
stay tuned - especially you torchworking friends of mine - I hope this week will be full of fun reads!

New Year Good Luck Give-Away!

Guess how many Lady Duds are in this jar

Good luck in the New Year! Hopefully 2009 will bring many smiles, good times, positive changes and manageable stress levels. :) Best of luck to all of us!

As a fun game to welcome in the new year - I am giving away all of these little glass ladybugs. Ah... I should add that they are sorta weird, all "seconds" (as in, some have 3 eyes, or none, or just look wrong, etc). They are beads (there is a hole going thru them) and they are small (you could put one on a dime). Lady bugs to bring you good luck - Aimee calls them "Lady Duds" - I like that!
So here's how the game works: Guess how many Lady Duds are in the jar! There are more than 5 and less than 50. The closest guess wins the lot of 'em - for free!

Game runs thru Jan. 9th, 2009. Anyone can enter - feel free to give it a stab (only one guess per person)

Good Luck!

Cyber-Monday FREE Give-Away

Every order placed in my Etsy shop today will receive a FREE ornament with their purchase.

... and each item bought will enter you into my Dec 1st 's give-away. This is a quick one (only lasting today, Dec 1st 2008, and orders already placed today will be retroactively entered into the fun) with a sweet prize: the four ornaments in this picture could be yours!!! The funny thing is these are my "seconds", mostly the bows heated funny, sometimes one loop closes so they hang funny, or they don't hang at all. I am not sure what you will do with them, but I do hope you will enjoy them. Get crafty, hang them or glue them to something... who knows!

so get shopping - each item purchased counts as one entry, and every order will include a free ornament!

Happy Cyber-Monday!
